Roepa Dipoedji, Djiwa Dipingit
A story about tradition, patriarchy, and the cost of a life shaped by others.
Set against the weight of social expectations, Roepa Dipoedji, Djiwa Dipingit explores the silencing of women through forced marriage and the traditions that seek to define their futures. Through its narrative, the film reflects on the tension between individual freedom and a society that places obedience above choice.
The project approaches tradition not merely as a cultural inheritance, but as a system worth questioning when it denies someone the right to choose their own life.
